CLEANING MAKEUP BRUSHES

DOES YOUR MAKEUP BRUSH LOOK LIKE THIS OR WORSE? HAS IT GONE DRY AND CLUMPY? HAS YOUR BRUSH BECOME HARSH ON YOUR SKIN? DO YOU HAVE ACNE, WEAR MAKEUP & USE BRUSHES? IF SO, READ ON!!!

We often tend to overlook cleaning our makeup brushes or tools but it is one of the most important things to do. How to be hygienic is the most important rule because all the tools used to apply makeup is a breeding ground for bacteria. I rather wash my brushes than suffer from eye infections or breakouts!!!

Not Washing Your Brushes:
Not washing your makeup brushes/tools is like not washing your face. Whilst applying makeup all the bacteria, dead skin cells, old makeup, dirt and oil gets picked up. The next use of the brush/tool the same thing happens but also with whatever has been picked up from the previous use going straight back onto your skin.

Benefits:
Washing your brushes/tools regularly will not only benefit your skin from acne or any other skin problems, but it will also keep your brushes being soft and subtle allowing for a smoother application, and will also help with your brushes/tools lifespan.

How Often:
For my own preference I like to wash my brushes/tools once or twice a week and for the brushes I use daily such as foundation, concealer, powder or eyeliner brush I will give them a wash every 2/3 days. The reason for this is that any brush that is used with a liquid or oil base is more prone to bacteria and dirt.

If you have acne or any other skin problem I recommend that you clean your brushes more often. Any brand new brushes also need washing due to any dust, dirt or bacteria picked up from production.
